We are in full swing with Christmas celebrations! On Saturday, we celebrated with the Steens and Castiles with "breakfast for dinner" at our house and a few good rounds of Dance Dance Revolution, after taking the kids to see Santa Claus. On Sunday, Lee's family came over for homemade pizzas and sharing of gifts. Curtis & Debbie, Jon & Mandy, Kirk, Billy, Mac & Hannah all came over. We had a great time and ate way too much!
Lee has been celebrating at school with lots of Christmas festivities, including a cookie swap tomorrow. The last thing we need in our house right now is 72 more cookies! I took the Foster Care Supervisors out for lunch this week to celebrate as well. We had a great lunch at the Sassafras Grille in Rome.
Annika continues to grow every day. She is talking a lot now, and is working on mastering the art of thumbsucking. We are trying to discourage the thumb, but it's so cute that it's hard to stop her. :) We are looking forward to many more friends and family meeting her over the holidays!
We are visiting Lee's dad tomorrow evening, and then packing for our first big road trip with the
little one! We're not quite sure what to expect, but I'm sure it will be an adventure! We are planning on leaving here Saturday morning and driving as far as we can, and arriving in Michigan sometime on Sunday. We are planning on staying about a week, so our posts will start again around the first of the year.
We hope you and your families have a safe and happy Christmas, and a memorable new year!
