12-month check-up

Just a quick update from us here - we went to the Pocket on Sunday afternoon - a good study break for Lee - and Annika played in the water. It was a nice day, but the water was much colder than we expected. She didn't mind though - she loved splashing around and throwing pebbles. We enjoyed a snack out there and then came home for Lee to get back to work! Teaching and going to school is really keeping him busy this semester, and we are looking forward to his graduation in April! Maybe he'll take a little time off before pursuing his Specialist Degree.

Annika had her 12-month well-child check-up today with the Pediatrician. She is doing great - she weighs 24 pounds 13.8 ounces (!) and is 30.5 inches tall. She is growing like a weed. We were told to take her off baby food and formula, and to feed her more table foods and whole milk. She really is becoming a little "person" and not a baby any more! She also had four shots today - one in each arm and one in each leg. These shots were for MMR, Hepatitis A, Chicken Pox and the flu. This is the first time that I've had to hold her for shots - usually daddy is there for that, but we both survived (barely). We have to return in one month to get the other half of the flu shot, but otherwise we're done with the shots for a while!
