Just a quick update from us - we are still here! We have been busy the past few weeks getting ready for the holidays, working and Lee is still driving back and forth to Alabama for school several nights a week! We are now on the downward slope toward the holidays and we are ready! We are looking forward to Thanksgiving this week with Lee's family. Lee & I spent yesterday Christmas shopping. Annika spent the day with her cousin Kirk and had a great time playing. Jon, Mandy, Kirk and Annika met us at the mall in the evening and we went to Build-A-Bear and made Holly & Hal, the christmas moose.
On Sunday, Lee & Annika went to visit Lee's dad, leaving me to finish up some things around the house, do a little work and try to finish the shopping for the week - and the Christmas shopping. I can't believe we are almost done already - what a great feeling! It was strange for me to have two whole days without Annika though. Walking around the grocery store I felt like I had forgotten something...I don't know the last time I've gone grocery shopping without her! But, she had lots of fun at the Grandpa Green's house...she played with her cousin Racley while Lee and his dad chopped a truckload of firewood!
We also spent some time this week packing shoeboxes for Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child, a program that sends shoeboxes full of gifts to children around the world, spreading the word of God's love and the real meaning of Christmas. We are very fortunate this year to have our jobs, our home, our health and our family and this seemed a fitting way to start out the holiday season.
