Julia Child, Mr. Wizard and Monty Python...equals Good Eats?
This past weekend was incredible! As a birthday present, Lee got me tickets to the live taping of "Good Eats Turns 10". Good Eats is one of our favorite shows on the Food Network, and they were taping a live episode that will air in October to celebrate 10 years. I've never been to the taping of a live show before, and it was really cool to see the camera and boom operator, the stage hands, and the stage manager who told us when to clap and when to yell "Good Eats". Cheesy, yes, but really fun! :) Ted Allen was there to interview Alton, all of the regular cast members stopped by, a couple cool demonstrations (one on a unitasker which Alton is challenged to use for multiple reasons...) and explanations of many of the shows quirky traits.
We went with 6 wonderful friends, and the show was great! So much fun, and we were there for nearly 3 hours! After the show, we went to South City Kitchen for dinner, where we shared good food, wine and great desserts. This is definitely a birthday to remember, and I'm so glad that I was able to spend it with such great (FUN) friends!
