Happy New Year and welcome 2010! I know that there are a lot of great things waiting for us in this year. For now though, we are just recovering from the hectic week (10 days, actually) and getting ready to get back into a routine, which will be good for ALL of us!
We celebrated Christmas starting last Wednesday at Lee's dad's house. On Christmas Eve, we got together with the Kirk, Green and Wallin families and enjoyed a full day of family. food and more food. We played the Newlywed game, and after nearly 7 years of marriage, we won! We had come tough competition with Phillip and Kim (married 13 years) and Jon and Mandy (married 3) but we managed to pull ahead and stay ahead! What a great team we make! :)
On Christmas day, we stayed home all day, which was a welcome change from previous years. Although we love spending time with my family in Michigan, it was so relaxing to know that we didn't have to brave the blizzards and interstate traffic around the holidays. We had a great day at home and played with all of Annika's new toys. She is one spoiled little girl! Christmas night we had dinner with the Steen's, in our pajamas. New tradition, maybe? :)
After Christmas I returned to work while Lee enjoyed the winter break from school. We spent a few days cleaning the house - going from top to bottom - and getting rid of clutter. I think the Salvation Army was happy to see us when Lee dropped off an entire truck load of donations! The Castiles came up from out of town on Monday night and we had a dinner gathering at our house, and we went to another friend's house for game night on Tuesday.
We spent NYE at the Rajk's cabin in Ellijay and enjoyed a great night there, playing pool into the wee hours of the morning, and I actually won 4 games of cutthroat in a row! Apparently I actually did learn something while at MSU! :)
Now we are back home, watching bowl games and taking down the Christmas decorations. It will be nice to get the house back to normal, and get back into a routine. Here's hoping that 2010 is a great year for all of us...I know we have some exciting things planned already!
