Can you pick me out of the crowd? I'm the one wearing the pink shirt! :)
Well, I actually did it - I survived the Peachtree Road Race on July 4th through the streets of downtown Atlanta. It was a great time and I'll definitely do it again - the course was a lot more uphill than I expected, but I still beat my goal time! I was in time group 9, so I didn't actually cross the start line until about 9:00am, but the weather was perfect and not as hot as it usually is on the 4th! It was really neat to run down the middle of Peachtree Street and see the buildings that we usually only see from the car - we passed the Woodruff Art Center, Piedmont Hospital, the Shepherd Center, and so much more. There were also thousands of people lining the sidewalks dressed in their 4th of July clothes to encourage us when we wanted to stop. It was a great experience and I hope that I'm fortunate enough to do it again! What a great way to celebrate the 4th!
