Birthdays, birthdays and MORE birthdays!

Today we had two birthday parties - one for Delaney, the next-door neighbor, who turned 5 years old and had a fabulous princess party, and the other for Kirk, Annika's cousin who is 9 days older than her! Annika held up incredibly well for spending all day surrounded by LOTS of people, and only took a quick nap in the car between parties.

We had a lot of fun at Delaney's party. All the kids came dressed up as either princesses or princes and played in the "castle" that I helped Jenni paint in order to transform their swingset. The party even had a "dinosaur" (Cameron - Delaney's dad), who the kids had to "slay" with water balloons and a dragon pinata that proved to be harder to smash than we thought. All of the kids had a great time though!

At Kirk's party, we enjoyed seeing family and watching Annika and Kirk play together. They are so good together, and they are lucky to have been born so close to each other. I'm sure they will have many years of getting in trouble together! Here they are bobbing for Diet Cokes in the icy water...

So, now we have a few days of rest before the big day - Annika's birthday! Can you believe she is turning one year old already? Next Sunday is the big day, and I'm already emotional since I can't believe it has been one year since we spent so many days in Floyd Medical Center waiting for her to come, only to realize that she wasn't budging on her own! Time flies when you are busy with a child! :)
