It's COLD up here!

We finally made it to Michigan - 34 hours after we left our house on Sunday morning!  We made it to Kokomo, Indiana Sunday afternoon, but the it was too windy for us to keep going.  We didn't actually hit any bad weather, but we had heard of a 100-car pile up ahead due to the snow, and we didn't want to risk it.  So, we left Georgia - 72 degrees on Saturday - and found ourselves in Kokomo with wind chills of -22 degrees.  That is a 94 degree difference!  Oh my gosh!  Annika didn't know what to think - she had never felt anything like it before.  Luckily, we had packed lots of warm clothes and coats.  We found a hotel room and called it a night, after walking through Meijer for old times sake.

We made our way north today and were mere miles from my parents home when the roads turned icy.  Not fun.  Luckily, Lee kept things under control and we managed to arrive safely this afternoon.  There is TONS of snow here - more than we've had at Christmas in many, many years and they are expecting another 5-10 inches in the next day or so, so we will definitely be enjoying a white Christmas!  This is a lot of excitement for us coming from the South!  I'll be sure to post pictures for our Southern readers soon - maybe we will brave the cold outdoors tomorrow and snap a few!
