Long weekend!

It seems like a while since we have posted - nearly two weeks I guess. It's been busy, tiring, overwhelming, and lazy all at the same time. We've all been battling illness - mostly headaches and stomach stuff, and Annika is on the verge of breaking through molars. We've had several near-sleepless nights, and are just now starting to recover! Luckily I have a long weekend ahead. Today is my furlough day for the month - exciting because we are not "allowed" to work at all - not even check e-mail from home...Yea! I'm definitely taking advantage of that. And Monday is MLK Jr. Day, so we'll all be off and able to spend the day as a family.

Last week was a big week for our family. The time came for my dad to be moved to a nursing home. It was a very hard decision, but my mother handled it better than we ever expected. I wish that we could have been there to help, but everything seems to be going well. He is getting great care where he is at, and mom is able to relax and have some much-needed time to herself. Hopefully we will be able to visit again soon, even though I'm not sure we've recovered from our Christmas visit!

As for everything else around here...we are doing well. Annika is growing like a weed. Today we are going shopping for new tennis shoes. She has already outgrown the pair we just bought! I think we'll wait until this afternoon, because the weather is COLD outside! The temp here is 12! We live in Georgia! This is not normal...But, we'll bundle up and brave the shoe store, and then a haircut - her first!
