Happy Halloween from the Greens!

We had a lot of fun this past weekend with Halloween. On Friday, Annika headed to my office to practice her trick-or-treating skills. She was a natural! After work, we headed to the YMCA for their Halloween party, where we had pizza and sandwiches, and saw a lot of great costumes. They had a haunted house, a costume contest, and trunk-or-treat there, too.

On Saturday (after my AM run - post on this coming soon...) we got the house ready for trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood. We ended up having a bunch of friends and family between our house and the neighbors, and we all ate, watched football and waited for the kids to start ringing the doorbell. We headed outside and started the firepit and handed out candy on the driveway. Annika and I walked around the neighborhood with the other neighbor kids and Annika quickly figured out what to do. After the first few houses, I didn't even have to go to the door with her! She looks so grown up following the "big kids"...

And Annika wasn't the only one to dress up this year...Lee, Cameron, Billy and Kelly have talked about their great idea for a few years now and finally decided that the time was right to be "King of the Hill". They stood like this on the side of the road for most of the night, with the banjo theme music in the background. I have to say that their likenesses are uncanny...

All of this excitement, and Annika was still in bed close to her bedtime (and so was I) despite consuming more candy than any 2-year-old should. We were hoping to take advantage of the extra hour, but no such luck...she was up and at 'em early as ever!
